"It's something I've dreamed about for a long time."
Lee Johnston and the Ashcourt Racing team claimed their maiden TT victory on Monday evening in a shortened Monster Energy Supersport race.
A great race that was initially scheduled for four laps started out with James Hillier leading but by the bungalow, Lee had taken the lead.
After trailing to Hillier who grabbed the lead early, Lee managed to take 1st place at the bunglalow with a lap speed of 126.031mph.
The rain begun to fall on the West part of the circuit and by the time the riders hit BallaughLee's lead was down to 0.6s. By Ramsey, the gap was still on 0.7s but after hitting Mountain with a great run, Lee increased the gap to over 3 seconds by the end of lap 2.
With a chequered flag shown, Lee decided against pitting for fuel and powered on with his second lap speed the fastest at 126.871mph.
This allowed Lee to clinch his first TT win and won by over 3 seconds. Watch the video above for Lee's thoughts on the win.
Lee Said: "I'm feeling so emotional right now and it means so much to me to win a TT race. This place can be equally frustrating as it can be rewarding but I've got some really good people around me this year and when you do it all like we bhave this year, it makes it all the more rewarding."
