Another Podium Finish For Lee Johnston At The TT

"I don't know what happened at the beginning of the Lightweight race but the tyre didn't feel right in the first few miles"

Lee Johnston claimed his second podium finish at the 2019 Isle of Man TT Races yesterday with a third place finish in the Lightweight race on the Ashcourt Racing / KMR Kawasaki.

Due to asdverse weather, Lee's time on the bike had been limited in regards to practise. In the first few miles his back tyre caused issues dropping him back to 7th place.

After getting his groove back and finding a solid 119.800mph first lap, led him to spring up the order into third place.

At this point, Michael Dunlop and Jamie Coward were already out of sight but with an improved 120.912mph second lap, Lee sped home to take his second podium finish is the week.

Lee said: "I dont know what happened at the beginning of the Lightweight race but the tyre didn't feel right in the first few miles and the back came round on me at Quasrter Bridge so it wasn;t until Ballacraine that I started to into the race. By then I was already down to P7 so I got stuck in and once I was in third, I was able to enjoy the race and come home for my second podium of the week. I don't ride the bikes very often but full credit to Ryan. It's a race winning bike and i probably didn't do it justice today but we got a good podium finish and hopefully we can come back next year and have another go."
